Georgia: The official ceremony for joining the Chamber of Notaries of Georgia as an observer to the Council of Notaries of the European Union was held.
The First Deputy Minister of Justice Tamar Tkeshelashvili presented the event in Vilnius dedicated to the admission of the Chamber of Notaries of Georgia to the Council of Notaries of the European Union.
“The country’s membership in the Council of Notaries of the European Union is the result of reforms made in the notary field and is another international recognition of Georgia, which will contribute to deepening field cooperation between EU countries and Georgia.” Georgia will continue to share the EU’s best sanitary practices. In addition, as a result of joining the Council, the Notary Chamber of Georgia will make a significant contribution to the work of the Notary Council of the European Union”, – noted Tamar Tkeshelashvili.
The Chamber of Notaries of the European Union’s reception ceremony was held in Vilnius during the General Assembly of the Council of Notaries of the European Union (CNUE).
The event was attended by Lithuanian Minister of Justice Evelina Dobrovolska, President of the Notary Council of the European Union Marius Strakaitis and President of the International Notary Union Lionel Galiesi, Georgian Emergency and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Lithuania Salome Shapakidze. Georgian delegation included, as well, Chairman of the Board of Notary Chamber Ekaterine Nandoshvili, Deputy Marika Gogoladze, Board members Eter Gzirishvili and Roman Kostaniani, Teona Tzotsalashvili, International Relations Specialist of the Notary Chamber.

The Notary Chamber of Georgia was established on May 3, 1996, under the Georgian Law, On Notary, which defines the legal basis for arranging the Notary and Notary’s activities in Georgia.
The Notary Chamber of Georgia is the union of notaries based on their compulsory membership and self-governing principles. According to Georgian Law, the Notary Chamber is a legal entity of public law.
