The prosecution office of the Republic of Georgia has charged one person. He is accused of the international murder which took place in the capital city of Georgia, Tbilisi.
The prosecutor’s office of Georgia has shared the information on its official Facebook page. Â As per the information after receiving the information, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has conducted a preliminary investigation to extract the truth.
According to the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs  it was revealed that on the day of June 13 in the settlement of Kukii in Tbilisi accused committed this heinous crime. Accused while attacking the victim have inflicted several wounds on the victim with a knife on her different parts of the body during an argument.
Later on due to this serious bodily injury which was caused by the accused  the victim died on the spot. After the preliminary investigation the role of the accused appears clear. So  the officials of the law enforcement agencies arrested the accused on the same day.
According to the prosecution office officials the accused have been charged under Article 108. Article 108 of the Georgian criminal code defines the offense of murder committed with clear intention. According to the legal provision, the accused person can be sentenced to up to ten years in jail if they are found guilty after the trial of the case.
On the other hand, the Prosecutor’s office applies to the court within the time limit established by the law  with a motion to use imprisonment as a preventive measure. The preventative custody of the accused is necessary to stop him from tampering with the evidence or threatening the prime witnesses of the crime.
It is to be specifically mentioned that law enforcement agencies are working in collaboration to tackle the country’s increasing crime rate. The law enforcers are also organising seminars and workshops to inform people about the strict legal provisions. At the same time  legal provisions are being made more stringent so that accused persons can be prevented from committing offenses due to fear of the law.
