In New York (USA), at the International Wine and Alcoholic Beverage Exhibition “Vinexpo America,” 20 esteemed Georgian wine-producing companies presented their products with the National Wine Agency’s financial and organizational support.
Participation in such an international exhibition is an important condition for diversifying and growing wine export markets.
By participating in “Vinexpo America”, Georgian companies have the opportunity to learn about new trends and challenges in the world’s wine market, and to seek trade partners in the United States, a market of strategic importance for Georgian wine. The United States is known for its high wine quality standards, making it a challenging yet rewarding market for Georgian wine.
Consul General of Georgia in New York, Maia Bartaia, a key figure in promoting Georgian wine in the US, attended the exhibition, further highlighting the significance of the event.
On the days of the exhibition, organized by the American company “Colangelo&Partners,” the contractor of the National Wine Agency, Georgian wine tasting was held for local wine professionals.
It is noteworthy that, in recent years, the events carried out with the invaluable support of the National Wine Agency have significantly increased the awareness of Georgian wine in the USA, leading to tangible results.
In January-May of this year, up to 486 thousand liters of wine was exported from Georgia to the USA, 66% higher than the previous year’s analog rate.
The USA ranks 6th in the list of Georgian wine exporter countries. It should be noted that the United States of America is one of the highest-priced segments for Georgian wine—the average price of one liter of Georgian wine is 6.15 US dollars.
