Tbilisi: The army camp from June 23 to 28 hosted second stream students. This year the army camp will receive 2160 students from 9th, 10th, and 11th grades from several schools in different regions.
It is to be specifically mentioned that under the project’s provisions young people got the opportunity to participate in an adventurous, fun, and diverse educational program. At the same time the students also got the chance to upgrade their skills in fire training, topography, military navigation, etc.
It should be noted that this year the “Army Camp” project has been expanded to provide the opportunity to the maximum number of students. Accordingly the camp is also held in Sachkhere, Kojor, and Akhalkalaki to accommodate the maximum number of students.
It is also worth noting that, along with various fun activities officials and representatives of various units of the Defense Forces and the National Defense Academy visit the “Army Camp” and organize interesting educational meetings with the students.
Notably such initiatives have been held for many years and these camps contribute to the deepening of knowledge among young people about such important issues as civil security the defense system of Georgia and the activities of the Georgian army and defense forces.
The Ministry of Defense is implementing the “Army camp” with the collaboration of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth and the Youth Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The army officer also addressed the students on the occasion to inform them about army life and job opportunities offered by the different wings of the armed forces.
A special meal was arranged for the visiting students who enjoyed it in the company of the army official and their school heads. They also visited the living quarters of the armed personnel to learn about army life closely. In conclusion, the students shared their experiences and termed the visit very successful.
It is also worth noting that many students also expressed their desire to join the armed forces after learning about the adventurous life of the army.
