Georgia hosts Uzbek State Symphony Orchestra concert

With the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Georgia will host Uzbek Culture Days, during which cultural events will be held on July 10-11, 2024.

Georgia: With the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Georgia will host Uzbek Culture Days, during which cultural events will be held on July 10-11, 2024.

The Uzbek State Symphony Orchestra’s concert was held at the Jansugh Kakhidze Music and Cultural Center on July 10.

The event was attended by First Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia Yoseb Bagaturia, First Deputy Minister of Uzbekistan Culture Bakhodir Akhmedov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili, Deputy Minister of Refugees, Labor, Health and Social Protection Giorgi Tsagareishvili, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Mzia Giorgobiani, Member of Parliament of Georgia Eka Sepashvili, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Yuri Nozadze, Lia Gigauri, First Deputy Minister of State for Reconciliation and Civil Equality, Shota Rekhviashvili, Deputy Minister of State for reconciliation and civil equality, Jemal Putkaradze, Advisor to the Minister of Environment and Agriculture, members of the Uzbekistan delegation and other guests were present.

The orchestra performed Uzbek pieces under the direction of Honored Uzbek Artist Kamolidin Orinboev and offered Georgian compositions to the audience: “Suliko,” “Military,” “Tbiliso,” “Argo,” and others. Participants in the concert included Uzbek People’s Artist Abduhoshim Ismailov, Honored Artist of Uzbekistan Hios Arabov, Uzbek People’s artist Munozhat Yulchiev, State Prize winner of “Zulfia,” laureate Zulkhaio Raimkulova, and others.

A delegation of musicians and filmmakers led by the First Deputy Minister of Culture of Uzbek Culture, Bakhodir Akhmedov, is visiting Georgia.

The Georgian Minister of Culture and Sports, Thea Tsulukiani, hosted the First Deputy Minister. At the meeting, the parties discussed possibilities of cooperation in the field of culture. Delegation members are planned to meet with the deputies of the Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia.

Under the Uzbek Culture Days program, on July 11, the National Center of Cinematography will organize a screening of Uzbek films at the National Archive of Georgia Cinema Hall. Viewers will watch three well-known Uzbek films, which were created with the financial support of the Uzbek National Cinema Center.

The schedule for the movie screenings is as follows:

  • 12:00 – “Waiting” (dir. Jakhengira Akhmedova);
  • 16:00 – “Flight 101” (dir. Arko Shakhnazarov);
  • 18:00 – “Change” (dir. Elkin Tuichiev).

The movie screenings are free to attend. The Uzbek artists visit the state ensemble of song and dance “Erision.” The guest hosts will share their creative experiences.
