PM  Kobakhidze visit UK to attend 4th European Political Community Summit

Irakli Kobakhidze, the  Prime Minister of the Republic of Georgia  visited the United Kingdom to participate in the European Political Community Summit 2024 to be held on July 18.

Irakli Kobakhidze, the  Prime Minister of the Republic of Georgia  visited the United Kingdom, where British PM Keir Starmer welcomed him. PM is all set to participate in the European Political Community Summit 2024 at Oxfordshire here on July 18.

 

PM  Kobakhidze shared the information on his social media handles. On his official Facebook page  he posted  “I am participating in the European Political Community summit  which is being held in the United Kingdom.”

 

He further added  “The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Keir Starmer  is hosting the leaders of about 50 countries at the Blenheim Palace in Woodstock.”

 

“I will participate in the panel discussion planned within the summit on the topic of energy and connectivity. I will   focus on the special role that Georgia can play in terms of connectivity,” added PM Irakli Kobakhidze.

 

It is worth mentioning that this is the fourth session of the summit under the chair of the UK’s Prime Minister, Keir Starmer. The UK announced that it would host this fourth summit in October 2022. The summit will witness bilateral meetings as well as many roundtable conferences on common issues. The roundtables meeting will discuss issues like energy, connectivity, migration, and challenges to democracy as well as Ukraine war.

 

The prime minister added that  at this important summit we would share messages with our European colleagues regarding how we see the role of Georgia. Georgia can play a unique role for Europe in terms of connectivity  and we will discuss this topic with our European colleagues on a priority basis.

 

PM stressed that we still have a number of ongoing projects that will strengthen our transit function, including the development of our connectivity within the Middle Corridor initiative. This will be very beneficial for Europe and the Black Sea region. We will also discuss specific projects with European partners here.

 

As per Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze  one of the important topics of conversation will be the enlargement of the European Union, along with issues of Ukraine—Russia war and illegal migration.
