Georgia: The Georgian Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Thea Tsulukiani, is on a working visit to the Hashimite Kingdom of Jordan, where she met with Petra Tourism Development Commissioner Farez Braizat.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports, Director of the National Agency for Protection of Cultural Heritage Nikoloz Aznaurashvili, Ambassador of Emergency and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Hashimite Kingdom of Jordan Archil Dzuliashvili and members of delegations of both parties.

Farez Bryzat provided detailed information to the Georgian delegation about the development of Petra’s tourist infrastructure, including ongoing projects such as the restoration of historical sites and the construction of new cultural facilities, as well as planned projects like the establishment of cultural exchange programs. Negotiations were held in front of Petra’s main cathedral about holding a Georgian folklore concert as part of these initiatives.

Georgian Minister of Culture Petra visited with the delegation. Petra is one of the new seven wonders of the world. It is in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.

For your information, Thea Tsulukiani has already met with Haifa Najari, the Minister of Culture of the Hashimite Kingdom of Jordan. At the hosts’ suggestion, a visit to old Georgian archaeological monuments was planned as part of the cultural exchange, and future joint activities are being planned.

In addition, it is important to note that Georgia’s participation in the Jerash Cultural Festival, held in the Hashimite Kingdom of Jordan and dedicated to the 25th anniversary of King Abdullah II’s reign, is a significant step towards strengthening cultural ties between the two countries. The Adjara choreographic ensemble “Batumi” will represent our country’s culture and art with dignity at this prestigious event.
