Nino Katamadze of Youth Center Ozurgeti shares her experience

Nino Katamadze, a member of the Ozurgeti Youth Centre of Georgia  shared her experience working with USAID’s supported Ozurgeti youth centre in Georgia. It is one of the total 15 cente that have been working in Georgia with the active support of USAID.

While sharing her views  Nino Katamadze added “I have been involved in the activities of the youth center for about two years. During this time  I gained a lot of experience. I got interested in graphic design two years ago  and that’s where I got involved in the design curriculum. I also took business English courses which significantly improved my knowledge.”

 

According to  her  participating in the summer school allowed  to make new friends from almost all parts of Georgia. Like other youth centers  Ozurgeti Youth Center enables young people to get career advice, take language courses  and get involved in internship programs and civic initiatives.

 

The youth centers across Georgia are supported by USAID and a partner civil society organization  the United Nations Association of Georgia. Since 2010 the centers have contributed to the career development of more than 20,000 young people across Georgia.

 

The social media handles of USAID-Georgia carried Nino Katamadze’s story. The story was shared on the eve of International Youth Day  which is celebrated every year on August 12. According to Nino Katamadze  young students can avail themselves of wonderful opportunities by joining these USAID-assisted youth centers.

 

It is worth noting that the United States Agency for International Development is working on many projects in Georgia. The support of youth organizations is also an initiative in this direction. These centers facilitate the members’  to develop their skills.

 

The youth members came from different parts of the country  which allowed them to learn the country’s diverse culture. At the same time they also learned about many new professional and skill-based courses. Nino Katamadze thanked USAID and the organizers of the Ozurgeti Youth Center for providing the best opportunity for the country’s youth to enhance their skills.
