Georgia: The Director of the Maritime Transport Agency (MTA), Alexi Akhvlediani, proudly attended the ‘Open Day’ at the thriving Poti branch of Batumi State Maritime Academy. In his welcome speech, he reassured the participants of the institution’s continued success and growth.
The Association “Atinati” organized an Open Door Day at Poti Public School on September 24, 2023. The event was part of the “Civic Education and Teachers’ Training Program” and focused on a small grants competition. 21 people attended, including civics teachers and students
“In this school, all conditions are created for quality education. The most important thing is that the current opportunities are developing and increasing year by year; higher education and vocational programs are added, and therefore, the content is also growing, which is the merit of the professionals working here.
It is clear to everyone that the economic development and advancement of the state need highly qualified specialists who can meet the modern demands of the private sector, and it is commendable that the Poti branch of the Maritime Academy contributes to the development of the port, logistics, and customs sector in the region,” said Alexi Akhvlediani.
Alexi Akhvlediani expressed his gratitude to the city of Poti’s leadership, Mr. Beka Vacharadze and Giorgi Khakhubia, for their unwavering support of the Poti branch of the Academy. Their support ensures a secure and promising future for the institution.
Poti branch successfully develops professional education and higher bachelor’s programs. This year, 11 vocational programs will be implemented in the school, and more than 200 students will master the most demanded professions in the marine and mowing fields with government funding, completely free of charge.
Guests at the event were provided with a wealth of information about our current educational programs, the registration process, professional testing, and the promising employment opportunities that await our graduates.
