Georgia: Georgia’s national team of 20—and 23-year-old weightlifters won 38 medals at the European Championship on 5 November 2024.
Poland hosted the European Championship of Weightlifting for athletes between 20 and 23 years old. The Georgian team successfully competed for the continent’s championship, finishing the tournament with 38 medals. Georgia took second place in the team between 20 and under 23.
The medals were distributed as follows:
Weightlifters under 20:
- Goga Jajvani (89 kg) – Gold in Atatsi, Silver in Akvra, Silver in Orchid;
- Guram Vekua (109 kg) – silver in Atatsi, gold in Akvra, silver in Orchid;
- Giga Odikadze (61 kg) – silver in the bracket;
- Levan Ochigava (81 kg) – silver in Atatsi, bronze in Akvra, bronze in Orchid;
- Tornike Lomtadze (102 kg) – silver in Akvra, silver in Orchid;
- Irakli Vekua (+109 kg) – silver in Akvra (European record).
- Weightlifters under 23 years old:
- Archil Malakmadze (81 kg) – silver in the grip, gold in the orchids;
- Bachuki Shamilishvili (55 kg) – silver in Akvra, silver in Orchid;
- Guram Giorbelidze (67 kg) – bronze in Atatsi, silver in Akvra, silver in Orchid;
- Zurab Mskhaladze (96 kg) – bronze in Atatsi, silver in Akvra, bronze in Orchid;
- Zaza Lomtadze (109 kg) – silver in Akvra, silver in Orchid;
- Luka Kashibadze (102 kg) – bronze in Atatsi, bronze in Akvra, bronze in Orchid;
- Saba Asanidze (89 kg) – Bronze in the bracket.

- Mariam Murghvliani (87 kg) – Gold in Atatsi, Gold in Akvra, Gold in Orchid;
- Nana Khorava (81 kg) – silver in the bracket, bronze in the aisle, bronze in the Orchid;
- Natia Gadelia (81 kg) – bronze in Atatsi, silver in Akvra, silver in Orchid.
