Tbilisi: The representatives of the prominent Non-Governmental Organisation of Georgia namely HEAD held a meeting on social services. The roundtable conference by HEAD (Habitat for Equality, Achievements and Development) was aimed to apprise citizens about ongoing social services.
It is worth to note that the information was also shared by Habitat for Equality, Achievements and Development NGO on the official’s social media handles also. The official Facebook page stated, “On December 13, representatives of the A(A)YP Habitat for Equality, Achievements and Development held a roundtable meeting on the topic “Rights-based and needs-oriented social services in Georgia, at local and central levels”.
It is also to be noted this this important meeting was attended by representatives of kindergartens, social service agencies, family strengthening consultants of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svante Regional Service Centre and interested parents as well as other invited guests.
On this occasion, the participants of the meeting received detailed information about social programs funded by both the state and local budgets and discussed challenges and needs.
The roundtable meeting was held within the framework of the project “Needs-based and development-oriented therapy services for children with disabilities in Zugdidi”, which is funded by the German Embassy in Georgia. The project is implemented by Habitat for Equality, Achievements and Development (HEAD).
The key speakers of the event encouraged parents of students with special need to support the study of these students so they can get quality education and skill. The skill education related programs and schemes being run by local and central authorities were also discussed with attendees.
The parents of children with special needs on this occasion thanked key speakers. They also expressed gratitude for sharing information with them. They also said that in such kind of meeting are very helpful and they have benefited many families of region as well.
On the other hand, social media users while reacting to the social media post of NGO appreciate the efforts. They also demanded that such type of meeting should be held regularly.
