Georgia: The Deputy Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri hosted a meeting with the Ambassador of Emergency and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia, Ali Khan Orbai.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs posted glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook page on February 19, 2025, Wednesday. The Ministry also shared some details about the conference along with its snippets.
According to the Facebook post of the meeting, it is to be noticed that the meeting was held on February 19. It should also be noted that during the meeting, the Ambassador introduced the newly appointed advisers of the Turkish Embassy for Internal Affairs – Hakan Bejeli and Nejmetin Tetiki- to the Minister.
The conversation also touched upon the bilateral and friendly relations between the two countries. It is to be noted that they have exemplary relations and close cooperation in a wide range of areas from energy to trade and from economy to education and culture.
Deputy Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri wished and congratulated the newly appointed advisers on their appointment and wished them success in their future endeavors.
He also expressed his warm gratitude towards the Ambassador for his intensive and fruitful cooperation with law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Turkey and continuous support of the Turkish side in the process of developing the capabilities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
It is worth noting that Turkey’s participation in the implementation of the NATO-Georgia vital package maritime security program was also highlighted at the conference. The initiative by the Turkish side to send a Georgian contingent of the Republic of Turkey’s military-navy ships to participate in the NATO maritime security operation “Guardian of the Sea” was acknowledged by Vakhtang Gomelauri.
The parties concluded the conference by agreeing that the pattern of planned meetings and agency-to-agency working visits will be actively maintained, encouraging the exchange of best practices and experiences among the parties in many fields.
