Georgia: The Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia Zviad Gabisonia became the representative of the Working Group of Experts on Artificial Intelligence and Qualifications Recognition of the Council of Europe Education (CDEDU).
The Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia shared the glimpses of the event on its official Facebook Page on July 16, 2025, Wednesday. The Ministry also shared a small note along with its glimpses.
According to the information shared by the Georgian Education Ministry, it should be noted that the appointment is a significant milestone for Georgia, reflecting its growing engagement in international education policy and AI development.
This group, which consists of 10 highly qualified specialists, was selected by the CDEDU Secretariat based on diverse criteria of academic and professional experience. Zviad Gabisonia, as an expert in digital education and artificial intelligence, represents Georgia as a country.
It is worth noting that the programme for recognition of artificial intelligence and qualifications by the Steering Committee of the Council of Europe (CDEDU) was approved at the plenary session in March 2025.
To implement it, a working group of experts has been established, which could be joined on the basis of nominations submitted by CDEDU member countries.
The Steering Committee of Education of the Council of Europe unites 46 members of the Council of European countries. A working group of experts will assess the possibilities and risks of artificial intelligence in the Council of Europe’s values.
In the Qualification Process, they will develop recommendations and practical tools to effectively integrate AI into the Qualification Process. The Group will engage in developing relevant policy documents and frameworks, strengthening international collaboration in education, data, and AI-driven decision-making.
