The Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, participated in the event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Gori State University. Notably, the Gori State University was established on July 16, 1935.
The Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia shared the glimpses of the event on its official Facebook page on July 16, 2025, Wednesday. The Ministry also shared a small note about the event along with its glimpses. It was noted that at the event, Givi Mikanadze was awarded the “Anniversary Commemorative Medal” by the University.
According to the note shared by the Ministry, it should be noted that the Minister congratulated professors, students, and the public on the anniversary of the foundation of the University and talked about the role of the University in the development of education.
As the Minister noted, Gori State University is not only a regional but also a nationally important educational and scientific center, which has made a significant contribution to the education and development of many generations.
According to him, the University’s 90-year successful achievement is the result of a number of outstanding graduates, hundreds of distinguished teachers, professors, academics, and valuable values established over the decades.
It is worth mentioning that Gori State University, which was founded in 1935, represents the most important department of education and science in Shida Kartli. It was formed as a result of the unification of two higher education institutions – SP Gori State University and SP Tskhinvali State University.
