Adjara, Georgia: The Chairman of the Adjara Government, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, met with the students who won the grant program. The program is implemented by the Ministry of Education and Sport of Adjara and provides funding for studying abroad for students. This year, more than 100 students will be funded under the grant program.
The Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (B S U) shared the glimpses of the meeting on its Official Facebook Page on August 23, 2025. The university also posted some information about the meeting along with its photographs.
At the meeting, the Chairman Sulkhan Tamazashvili addressed the young people and congratulated David Gabaidze, Chairman of the High Council and Minister of Education and Sport.
While addressing the youth, Sulkhan Tamazashvili emphasized that the priority of the Adjara government is to provide young people in the region with quality education.
“For me and my team, it is a priority for young people to have the opportunity to receive a quality education, and we will do everything for that.” I am confident that the knowledge and experience gained will be used by the youth for the development of our region and the country. The Adjara government will continue to assist successful students through various programs, as well as financial support to higher education institutions in the region, to improve infrastructure and material-technical base,” Sulkhan Tamazashvili said.
The chairman of the government introduced a new initiative for young people, which provides for 1000 Gel scholarships per semester for students. The Ministry of Education and Sports of Adjara will start issuing scholarships from the new academic year.
In addition, the government highlighted that these initiatives are not only aimed at supporting students financially but also at creating equal opportunities for the youth of Adjara to access international standards of education. By investing in education, the administration seeks to strengthen human capital, encourage innovation, and foster long-term socio-economic development in the region.
