Akhaltsikhe Municipality, Georgia: A solemn meeting was held with public school teachers and graduates at “Akhaltsikhe Castle” on Friday, September 19, 2025, to celebrate their achievements and contributions to education.
The Akhaltsikhe Municipality Council shared the glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook Page on September 19, 2025, Friday. The Council also shared a small note about the meeting along with its highlights.
The event was attended by members of the Georgian Parliament, representatives of the party administration, local self-government, educational sphere, directors of public schools, teachers, and graduates with gold and silver medals of the previous academic year.
The event was opened by Khatuna Khmaladze, the head of the Akhaltsikhe Educational Resource Center, who thanked the legislative body, representatives of the State Councillor’s administration, and local self-government for their support.
Samtskhe-Javakheti State Trustee Zaal Gelashvili, Member of the Parliament of Georgia Anton Obolashvili, Chairman of the Committee on Education, Culture and Youth Affairs of the Georgian Parliament Mariam Lashkh, Committee member Vladimir Bozhadze, Chairman of the City Council David Lomidze, Mayor of Akhaltsikhe Municipality Irakli Lazara Son and Deputy Director of Akhaltsikhe Public School No5 Marina Mchedlidze.
The meeting served not only as a platform to honor academic excellence but also as an opportunity to strengthen the connection between educators, students, and local authorities.
During the event, for successful and fruitful teaching activities, public school teachers of the municipality were given tokens and souvenir gifts from the Educational Resource Center.
Graduates of Akhaltsikhe Municipality Public Schools for the academic year 2023 – 2024 were awarded gold and silver medals, including 65 gold and 20 silver medals. Studio “Palitra”, ensemble “Lomsia”, and pupils of schools in the village of Atskuri performed at the festive event with musical and choreographic numbers.
