Georgia: The specialists of the National Environment Agency of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture, as part of the Black Sea National Monitoring Program, carried out a marine expedition in the Gonio-Anaklia Aquatorium.
The LEPL National Environmental Agency of Georgia shared the glimpses of the working process on its official Facebook Page on October 9, 2025. The Agency also shared a small note about the process along with its glimpses.
According to a brief note shared by the Georgian National Environment Agency, it is worth noting that the working process was carried out by specialists from the National Environment Agency of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
Agency specialists took up to 200 samples of seawater and bottomsoil using modern standards, specialized tools, and equipment. Samples were sent to the laboratories of the National Environment Agency for International Standards.
Material analysis and data processing will be carried out step by step, including a long scientific research process. The final results of the aquatorial environment study, as a special report, will be available after full data processing and evaluation.
Studies determine the physical, chemical, and biological parameters of the sea, as well as the qualitative and quantitative indicators of organisms.
Studies make it possible to detect and evaluate the environmental changes in the sea environment as a result of natural and human intervention factors.
These studies aim to assess the condition of the Black Sea coast and continental shelf environment of Georgia in accordance with the requirements of the EU Maritime Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) and Water Framework Directive(WFD).
