A joint working meeting of the Civil Aviation Agency and European Aviation Crisis Coordination Cell (EACCC) held the Joint workshop on crisis management and coordination in the aviation sector.
The Georgian Civil Aviation Agency (GCAA) shared the glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook Page on December 4, 2025, Thursday. The Georgian Agency also shared a small note about the meeting along with its glimpses.
During the workshop, participants also exchanged international best practices and real-case crisis scenarios, allowing Georgian aviation specialists to learn from European partners and strengthen their preparedness for similar challenges in the future.
The working meeting discussed issues related to crisis management and coordination in the aviation sector. Special attention will be paid to the complex measures to ensure the safe functioning and continuity of airflow in the European region, as well as global challenges that may lead to temporary restrictions on airspace and various air services.
As Givi Davitashvili, Director of Civil Aviation Agency, said, timely detection of crises, informing stakeholders, coordination, effective response, and analysis of results are important for the functioning, operations, and business processes of aviation. “The Civil Aviation Agency is actively working with both local agencies and airlines, as well as international partners to jointly develop and improve crisis action plans, coordination aspects, and crisis mitigation measures,” said the agency’s director.
During the working meeting, the representatives of EUROCONTROL also got acquainted with the activities of “Aeronavigation“, its infrastructure, the measures and practices taken to ensure the organization of air traffic, and sustainability.
Representatives of the Civil Aviation Agency, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, “Saeronavigation”, “Union of Georgian Airports”, and “Tav Urban Georgia” participated in the working meeting.
