Ozurgeti Municipality, Georgia: The Mayor of Ozurgeti Municipality, Paata Kunchulia, was elected as a member of the Executive Board of the National Association of Local Self-Governments of Georgia (ATEA).
The Ozurgeti City Hall shared the glimpses of the event on its official Facebook Page on December 26, 2025, Thursday. The City Hall also shared a small note about the event along with its glimpses.
This decision was made on December 25, at the 8th session of the National Assembly of A.T.E.A, in which the elections of the Association’s President, the Executive Board, and the Audit Committee members were held.
Kakha Kaladze, the current president of the organization, was elected for the third term as president of the association, whose candidacy was supported by the majority of delegates with an open vote. At the same meeting, the composition of the Executive Council of ATEA was approved by a majority of votes.
Representatives of Georgia’s central and local governments, as well as partner local and international organizations, participated in a large-scale event, which was organized at the Hotel “Biltmore” in Tbilisi.
After the assembly, Paata Kunchulia took part in the LVIII session of the executive council, consisting of new members of the A.T.E.A.A, where vice presidents were elected for the association. The meeting also discussed the organization’s 2026 budget, new cooperation agreements with member municipalities, and the issue of introducing association delegates to international organizations.
The National Association of Local Self-Governments of Georgia unites all 64 municipalities and represents their interests both at the national and international levels. The association works to develop local government institutions, support the decentralization process, and strengthen collaboration between municipalities.
