Georgia: Within the framework of bilateral cooperation between Georgia and the United States, representatives of the U.S. Military Group donated $ 234,150 worth of fire and communication equipment to the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Interior.
The Emergency Management Service of Georgia shared the glimpses of the event on its official Facebook Page on January 16, 2026, Friday. The Management Service also shared a small note about the event along with its glimpses.
The donated equipment is intended to strengthen emergency response capacities, improve communication during rescue operations, and support firefighters and rescue teams in responding more effectively to natural disasters and other emergencies across the country.
The Deputy Minister of Interior, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, and Chief of Emergency Management Service Temur Mghebrishvili, hosted a delegation of the US Military Group and Acting Ambassador of the United States, Alan Persel, in the Emergency Management Service and held a meeting with them.
The meeting was also attended by the Chief of the U.S. Military Group, Vice Colonel Andrew Underwood, Military Attachment Colonel Jonathan Adams, and bilateral cooperation officer Major Alec Harrison.
The Georgian side thanked the American side for its support. The Deputy Minister noted that the special equipment and equipment transferred will significantly enhance the operational capabilities of firefighters and rescue teams and contribute to the effective response to emergencies across the country.
The members of the delegation also visited the building of the Emergency Management Service Operational Management Center and got acquainted with the main directions of the center and the specifics of the emergency response process.
