The annual award ceremony of the Association of Sports Journalists of Georgia was held in the “Republic Event Hall”, where the best sportsmen of 2025 were selected after a survey of up to 100 sports journalists.
The Georgian National Olympic Committee (GNOC) shared the glimpses of the award ceremony on its official Facebook Page on February 1, 2026. The GNOC shared a small note about the event along with its glimpses.
The event was attended by the heads of SEOC – President Leri Khabelov, First Vice President Elguja Berishvili, Vice Presidents – Nino Salukvadze and Anzor Chubinidze, and General Secretary Emzar Zenaishvili.
President of the Olympic Committee Leri Khabelov, in his welcome speech, spoke about the successful sports year, the upcoming Winter Olympic Games, and noted the special role of sports media in the development of Georgian sports.
The winners are announced in the following nominations:
- “The best sportsman” – Khvicha Kvaratskhelia;
- “The best sportswoman” – Ether Liparteliani;
- “The best parasport man” – Giorgi Kaldani;
- “The best female sportsman” – Nina Tibilashvili;
- “The best young athlete” – Vakhtang Lolua;
- “The best team” – judo team;
- “The best coach” – Lasha Gujejiani.
Agmascom of the Sports Journalists Association named the Judo Federation as the best federation of 2025. The Ministry of Sport of Georgia was awarded the prize for the best partner of 2025.
At the event, a special prize, Perspective, was awarded by the National Shooting Federation of Georgia, which is based on the outstanding successes gained among young people in 2025. The prize was given to the Vice President of the Shooting Federation of Georgia, legendary bullet shooter Nino Salukvadze.
Awards were given to TV channels for the promotion of sports coverage: the First Channel of Georgia, Setanta, and Silknet. The SEOC President Leri Khabelov, First Vice President Elguja Berishvili, and Vice President Nino Salukvadze participated in the award ceremony.
