A new pediatric department will be established at the Batumi Republic Hospital. The Minister of Internally Displaced Persons, Labor, Health, and Social Welfare of Georgia, Mikheil Sarveladze, inspected the construction works on Tuesday.
Batumi Republic Hospital’s new, modern, multidisciplinary medical space provides both pediatric and various specialized services. The pediatric department has 91 beds and includes full-fledged therapeutic, surgical, and resuscitation units. On the first floor of the building, the hemodialysis center will be located, which has 18 beds.
The Minister of Health noted that the priority of the authorities is to provide high-quality, continuous medical services in the regions, and for this purpose, a number of important projects are underway throughout the country.
Mikheil Sarjveladze met with the medical staff of
Batumi Republic Hospital and officially introduced the new director of the clinic. Kakha Aghamanashvili, until now, was performing the duty of director of the clinic. He has many years of experience working in international organizations and the public and private sectors.
The meeting noted that the Republican Hospital is actively working on strengthening the directions – the volume of services is increasing, and the team of specialists is expanding.
During the meeting with the doctors, the Minister congratulated them on World Health Day and emphasized the crucial role of medical staff in the development of the healthcare system in both the region and the country.

Mikheil Sarjveladze, Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Nino Nizharadze, and Director of Medical Holding Malkhaz Zhorzhikashvili were present at the Batumi Republican Hospital.
