The Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, David Songulashvili, visited the stands represented by “Vinitaly” at the International Wine and Spirits Exhibition in Verona.
The Minister was hosted at the exhibition by the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry of the Italian Republic, Francesco Lollobrigida, and the President of the Verona Exhibition Center “Veronafiere”, Federico Bricollo. David Songhulashvili is on a working visit to Verona at the invitation of his Italian colleague.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia shared the glimpses of the Minister’s Visit on its Official Facebook Page on April 14, 2026, Tuesday. The Georgian Agricultural Ministry also shared a small note about the visit, along with its glimpses.
During the visit, the Georgian Minister also explored various international pavilions and interacted with representatives of leading wine-producing countries, discussing opportunities for cooperation, export growth, and promotion of Georgian wine in global markets.
The Minister also highlighted the growing international recognition of Georgian wine and emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships with European markets to further increase exports and global visibility of Georgian wine products.
“Vinitaly” is one of the most important international exhibitions of Italian wine and spirits, where more than 30 countries and all regions of Italian winemaking are participating. The exhibition will include thematic discussions, conferences, tastings, and bilateral meetings for wine industry representatives, and therefore, an important platform for winemaking countries to explore manufacturing and sales trends.
David Songulashvili took part in the conference “Recognition of the Cultural Value of Grape and Wine: International Perspectives” held within Vinitaly. The minister spoke about Georgian wine as part of the country’s identity, cultural value, and the importance of its place in international markets.
