Paris Book Festival opens in the “Grand Palais.” With the support of the Ministry of Culture, on April 17-19, Georgia will be presented as an emergency guest at the Paris Book Festival.

Georgian Minister of Culture Tinatin Rukhadze and Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of France, Permanent Representative of Georgia to UNESCO Irakli Kurashvili, attended the opening ceremony of the Book Festival.

The event was attended by members of the festival delegations and representatives of the field of literature.

Georgia will be presented as an emergency guest at the Paris Book Festival. The National Stand will be represented by the Writers’ House with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Georgia.

The Minister of Culture of Georgia noted, “This year, at the Paris Book Festival, Georgia has a very important place. Congratulations to the Writers’ House and the authors represented here for this success.”

“I am proud that our writing will be presented at a high level in the center of Europe. I would like to note that both Georgian and foreign editions are represented on the Georgian stand. “Participation in such events is important for the popularization of our country, – said Tinatin Rukhadze.

National Stand of Georgia will be opened today at the Paris Book Festival. It will be opened by Georgian Minister of Culture Tinatin Rukhadze. Georgian Writers House will present a diverse literary and cultural program, translated into French with more than 120 editions and up to 10 publishers. The Georgian delegation consists of prosaists, poets, translators, and publishers.

The concept of the Georgian National Stand is built on the motifs of the famous French writer Alexander Dumas’ book – “Travel to the Caucasus”. The stand will help the festival observers discover Georgian writing and culture. With the slogan – “Travel to Georgia with Alexander Dumas”, the program presented on the national stand includes modern and classic Georgian literature, film shows, children’s events, musical evenings, and culinary presentations.

The Paris Book Festival is an international literary event in which Georgia is participating for the third time. The festival hosts 50 countries and more than 1,000 authors from around the world every year.
