In connection with the event dedicated to the Independence Day of Georgia, near the Presidential Palace, from 08:00 o’clock on May 20 until the end of May 28, traffic on Atoneli Street will be restricted.
Vehicles driving from Soliko Virsaladze and Giorgi Chanturia streets to Atoneli street will be able to move through Italy street in the direction of Dry Bridge, and drivers from Dry Bridge to Atoneli Street will be able to drive using Virsaladze’s and Chanturia’s streets.
Vehicles from the right bank of Mtkvari, named after Zviad Gamsakhurdia (Rena Abzhandadze Street), can be moved to Vakhtang Orbeliani Street and then to Mtkvari Street.
In addition, from May 24, 08:00 to May 28, the traffic will be restricted in the area of the dry bridge, on the streets of Italy and Atoneli.
During the restriction period, cars driving from Saarbrucken Square towards the Dry Bridge will be able to move towards the right bank of Mtkvri (using Jovani Scudier Street). Cars driving from Virsaladze Street to Atoneli Street will then turn right towards Chanturia Street.
Due to the planned Independence Day event, traffic will be restricted in Freedom Square and the surrounding area. Specifically, from 20:00 to 21st of May 01:00, and from 21st of May, from 21st to 22nd of May, from 10:00 to 14:00 o’clock, vehicles will not be able to move from Kote Abkhaz and Shalva Dadiani streets to Freedom Square.
It will be possible to drive from Shota Rustaveli Avenue towards Freedom Square to the shopping center “Gallery” and then vice versa, while vehicles coming from both coasts of Mtkvri will only move to the ramp of Baratashvili bridge (intersection of Baratashvili and Pushkin streets).
Regarding alternative routes, private cars will be allowed to move with the help of Giorgi Leonidze, Pavle Ingorokva, Aleksandre Chavchavadze, Aleksandre Griboedov, Nikoloz Baratashvili, and Revaz Tabukashvili, as well as their nearby streets.
The change will apply to Ivane Machabli Street. In particular, the direction of traffic will be changed on this street, and it will be possible to reach Giorgi Leonidze Street from Lado Asatiani Street using Machabli Street.
In addition, from May 24 00:00 to May 27 08:00, the traffic will be restricted on Rustaveli Avenue in the direction of Freedom Square, in the road section before the intersection of Zurab Chichinadze Street.
During this period, cars coming from Rustaveli Avenue will be able to move to Gia Chanturia Street, from where, by turning left, they will go through Chanturia and Virsaladze streets to the right bank of Mtkvri and connect with Nikoloz Baratashvili Street.
