The National Statistical Service of Georgia held an introductory visit for the IV course junkers of the Training Battalion of the National Defense Academy named after David Aghmashenebeli, on May 27, 2-26, Wednesday.

The meeting aimed at introducing future officers to the importance of official statistics in the national statistical system, SAX-state activities, and the government administration process.
During the visit, Junkers had the opportunity to get acquainted with the history of the formation and development of the National Statistical System, modern processes of producing official statistics, international standards, and methodological approaches. Also, the services available by Saqstat to citizens and government agencies, mechanisms of data dissemination, and the practical importance of using information were discussed.
During the meeting, Sakstat Executive Director Gogita Todradze and his deputy Irakli Abkhaidze paid special attention to the role of official statistics in state policy planning, effective governance, and evidence-based decision-making. According to Gogita Todradze, reliable and timely statistical information is one of the most important foundations of the development of the modern state, which ensures both the correct assessment of economic and social processes and effective steps towards the security and strategic development of the country.
The visit was held in an interactive format, during which the junkers received comprehensive information about the various areas of Sakstat’s activities and answered questions of interest to them.
The meeting reaffirms Sakstat’s open and cooperative policy aimed at sharing knowledge and professional experience with different sectors involved in the development of the country. Such events promote public awareness among youth, strengthening institutional cooperation and a better understanding of public sector activities ს.
