Nino Nizharadze attends Nurses Recognition Event in Batumi

The Minister of Health and Social Protection of Adjara, Nino Nizharadze, attended the regional conference held as part of the “International Week of Nurses and Men Nurses” and took part in the award ceremony for the best nurses.

The Ministry of Health and Social Affairs of Adjara shared the glimpses of the conference on its official Facebook Page on May 27, 2026, Wednesday. The Georgian Ministry also shared a small note about the event along with its glimpses.

“Thank you to each nurse for your responsibility and professionalism. A special thank you to the dedicated nurses who have devoted their love of the profession for decades. Their long-term, continuous care is one of the most important pillars of the health care system,” noted the Minister, Nino Nizharadze.

Nurses were congratulated on their professional day and took part in the award ceremony, Chairman of the Committee on Health and Social Protection of the High Council of Adjara, Ilia Verdzadze, Minister of Education and Sport of Adjarian, Maia Khajishvili, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, Irakli Natroshvili, and representatives of the medical field.

Sophia Bakuridze, the wife of the Chairman of the Government of Adjara, congratulated the representatives of the medical field on their professional day and joined the award ceremony.

During the conference, a token of thanks and an unlimited package of 30 continuing vocational education credits were given to 32 nurses in the region.

The conference on the topic “National Platform for Professional Recognition and Development” was based on the recommendations of international professional organizations and aimed at supporting the development of the nursing and midwifery profession at the regional and national levels and strengthening human resources.

The event was organized by “Nurses Union”, Batumi Medical University – “Avicena,” and Batumi Medical Academy.
