Information-consulting seminars for nut producers were held in Guria and Samegrelo regions, whose aim was to share information about challenges in nut production and provide practical recommendations to farmers.
The Scientific Research Center for Agriculture (SRCA)of Georgia shared the glimpses of seminars on its official Facebook page on June 3, 2026, Wednesday. The Scientific Research Center also shared a small note about the seminars along with their glimpses.
According to the information provided by SRCA, it should be noted that the seminars were led by Zviad Bobokashvili, Head of the Vision Research Service of the Agricultural Scientific and Research Center and Zura Khidesheli, Head of the Integrated Plant Protection Research Department.
During the meetings, special attention was paid to the sudden sound of nuts, which remains one of the important challenges of the sector in recent years. Participants were informed about the causes of the disease, the factors contributing to its spread, and preventive measures. Also, effective ways to improve the phytosanitary condition of gardens, timely detection of diseased plants, and reducing the source of infection were discussed.
The talk at the seminars touched on the impact of climate conditions in the spring of 2026 on the vegetation processes in nut orchards. The participants were given recommendations on proper planning of plant protection measures, control of weeds and erosion, planting, improving garden sanitation, and other important agrotechnical measures.
Events were attended by nut-producing farmers, agronomists, representatives of the Agricultural Consulting Service, employees of municipalities and other people interested in the field.
The meetings were conducted in an interactive format, which allowed the participants to receive practical advice from specialists and comprehensive information on topics of interest to them.
