Health Campaign highlights Rukhi Hospital Services

The Minister of State Tea Akhvlediani and Minister of Health Mikheil Sarjveladze got acquainted with the expanded capabilities of the Republican Hospital of Rukhi.

The Minister of State for reconciliation and civil equality, Tea Akhvlediani, together with the Minister of Refugees, Labor, Health, and Social Protection, Mikheil Sarjveladze, was in the Samegrelo region.

A large-scale free medical campaign was held at Rukhi Republic Hospital, organized by the Ministry of Health, aimed at promoting preventive medicine, improving early disease detection, and expanding access to quality medical services among the population.

Minister of State Tea Akhvlediani noted that within the framework of the state policy of reconciliation and inclusion, with a united government approach, care for people affected by conflict will continue in the future.

Tea Akhvlediani noted, “The demonstration at the Rukhi Republic Hospital, on the initiative of the Ministry of Health, together with the health care of the local population, serves to showcase the opportunities we offer to the residents of the Abkhazian region beyond the occupation line, including modern medical examinations and hi-tech services.”

“Within the framework of the State Policy of Reconciliation and Involvement, with a united government approach, we will continue in the future to care for people affected by conflict and to ensure a better future for them, which is certainly one of the most important initiatives among people living on both sides of the dividing line, on the way to restore trust and reconciliation,” the State Minister said.

According to the Minister of Health, the rally in Rukh is part of a wide-scale screening campaign being carried out by the National Centre for Disease Control and Public Health in the country. During the campaign, citizens had the opportunity to conduct free screening studies for different profiles. Also, with the involvement of the government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, pediatric consultations and necessary medical examinations were provided to children displaced from Abkhazia.

Samegrelo-Upper Svaneti State Trustee Davit Verava, Irakli Purtseladze, Director General of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, Director Sergo Pipia, and other representatives of the medical field took part in the event.
