The Caucasus International University hosted the “White Robe” ceremony for the second time, which carries a symbolic burden for students who are completing basic education and transitioning to clinical training in medical institutions. The event was organized by MEDMARK CIU Student Association in close collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine.

The foundation of the “White Robes” ceremony was laid in 1989 at the University of Chicago, and in 1993, it was held for the first time at Columbia University. The event represents an important turning point for future doctors.
The ceremony brought 81 students together. Receiving a white gown is a symbol of professional responsibility, ethics, and trust in the patient.
The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Magda Tortladze, Deputy Dean Nana Janashia, and academic and administrative staff.
MEDMARK CIU team played an important role in organizing the event, whose co-founders are Muhammad Baraket and Chrisan Moreiro. The student team provided a high-level organization of the event.
During the ceremony, five students were awarded for various best achievements (academic, research, leadership, sports). In addition, all participants were awarded a symbolic Shield of Appreciation as a symbol of their successful completion of a significant milestone in their medical education journey.
It is noteworthy that after the ceremony, a demonstration of kidney dissection and a subsequent lecture were held, which gave them the opportunity to get practical clinical experience.
At the end of the event, students jointly recited the Doctor’s Oath, which became an important symbol of a new stage of their professional path. International University of Caucasus congratulates medical faculty students on receiving white robes and wishes them success on their professional path.
