With the support of the Georgian Ministry of Culture, the gala concert of the Tbilisi Ballet Festival was held at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theater. The Minister of Culture Tinatin Rukhadze attended the event.
The Ministry of Culture of Georgia shared glimpses of the event held at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theater 3on its official Facebook Page on July 13, 2026, Monday. The Georgian Culture Ministry also shared a small note about the event along with its glimpses.
“With the support of the Georgian Ministry of Culture, Tbilisi Ballet Festival is being held for the seventh time.” This year’s program is particularly large-scale and hosts many world-famous names, including Pina Baush’s renowned sister. It is especially a joy that Georgian ballet stars who perform on the world’s leading stages participate in this festival. It is such festivals that make Tbilisi an important center of international ballet art”, – said Tinatin Rukhadze.
The gala-concert programme featured prominent examples of world classical and contemporary choreography, including: Ballet Lea, Ballet Raymonda III Act and Ballet Don Quixote’s Grand Divertissement. The gala concert was conducted by Maestro Levan Jagaev and accompanied by the Orchestra of the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theater. The festival’s artistic director was Nino Ananiashvilia.
Both the State Ballet of Georgia and invited soloists were participating in the gala concert: Nino Samadashvili, Salome Iarajuli, Mariam Lomjaria, Filippo Montanari, Lorenzo Lodi, Maya Makhateli, Salome Leverashvili, Giorgi Potskishvili, Andro Potskshishvili, Bakhtiar Adamzhani and others.
At the end of the event, the artistic director of the festival, Nino Ananiashvili, thanked the former director of Tbilisi Opera and Ballet, Zurab Lomidze, and the talented staff of Ballet Das for their many years of fruitful work and special contribution to the development of Georgian ballet art and gave them symbolic gifts.
