In the Gldani district, on the N13 of Sarajishvili Avenue, the construction of the building of Tbilisi N14 kindergarten began on July 14, 2026, Tuesday.
Mayor of the capital Kakha Kaladze laid a symbolic capsule in the foundation of the construction together with Guram Okropiridze, Director of the Tbilisi kindergarten management agency, and Medea Gognadze, Director of kindergarten N14.
“Today we symbolically lay the foundation for the future, because each new kindergarten is an investment in our children, our families and the future of our country. It is very important to realize that right here, in this particular municipal kindergarten, children will be raised who will be worthy citizens of our city and country in the future. This is where they learn friendship, mutual respect, teamwork and the values that are the foundation of a strong community. Therefore, the construction of a kindergarten is not just an infrastructure project – it is a great investment for the future of our country,” Kakha Kaladze said.
According to him, a few years ago, an old, depreciated, and non-standard building was in use, which could not ensure the safety of children.
“For us, preschool education has never been an expense.” This is the most important investment the state will make in its future. Today we are laying the foundation for one of such important projects. We don’t leave only a letter in this capsule. Here we leave our belief that the next generation will live in an even more educated, strong, and successful Georgia. I am sure that in this building several children will be raised, who will be doctors, teachers, engineers, scientists, sportsmen, artists or worthy citizens of our country in the future,” said the mayor of Tbilisi.
Kakha Kaladze thanked all the people involved in the implementation of this project and wished them success.
According to the project, the new kindergarten will have eight groups and will serve up to 250 pupils. The area of the kindergarten is 3,420 square meters, where a modern, European-standard building will be built, and all safety standards for children will be ensured.
It is worth noting that the kindergarten has not stopped functioning. After 2020, the kindergarten will be placed in an alternative space, which serves 117 children.
The event was attended by Vice-Mayor of Tbilisi Giorgi Tkemaladze, Deputy Mayor, Administrators, relevant services of the municipality, representatives of Tbilisi City Council and Parliament.
