The Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Zurab Pataradze, attended the events held on the occasion of the public holiday of “Tbeloba” with his family.
The Government of Adjara shared the glimpses of the events held on its official Facebook Page on August 30, 2026, Sunday. A small note about the events was also shared along with its glimpses.
As part of the holiday, a monument to the outstanding Georgian prose writer, hymnographer, scribe and astronomer, Tbel Abuseridze, created by sculptor Davit Bolkvadze, was solemnly opened in the Khulo municipality.
It was placed in the renovated square of the Khulo township and, within the framework of the rehabilitation project, children’s entertainment and sports zones, resting areas, and landscaping works were also carried out.
The celebration of the “Tbeloba” public holiday continued in the village of Khikhadziri, where the Mayor of Khulo Municipality, Vakhtang Beridze, addressed the guests with a welcoming speech. Along with the Chairman of the Government of Ajara, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ajara Tsotne Ananidze, Member of the Parliament of Georgia Anzor Bolkvadze, Member of the Supreme Council of Ajara Minur Paksadze, Chairman of the Khulo Municipality Sakrebulo Renar Bolkvadze, and Archbishop of Skhalta His Grace Spyridon congratulated the locals on the holiday.
As part of the event, the Chairmen of the Government of Ajara and the Supreme Council awarded the laureates of the St. Tbel Abuseridze Municipal Prize. Zurab Pataradze in Khulo Municipality presented an award to Otar Shavadze for his outstanding contribution to the field of architecture.
The celebration ended with a concert featuring local ensembles – “Bermukha“, “Khelgashlila”, “Argineti” and other performers. The “Tbeloba” public holiday was attended by representatives of the Ajara government, the Supreme Council and local self-government.
