A new N21 public school was opened in Batumi on Friday, September 18, 2026. The Georgian Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, congratulated the teachers and pupils of the school.
Along with the Georgian Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Government of Adjara Autonomous Republic, Zurab Pataradze, Minister of Education, Science and Youth Givi Mikanadze, and Minister of Education and Sports of Adjara Autonomous Republic Maya Khajishvili also congratulated them.
The chairman of the Adjara government noted that the development of educational infrastructure in the region continues to be unprecedented, and 4 new schools have been added to Adjara this year and 7 more schools are planned to be built next year.
“It is an especially important day for our region and city. Today the new history of our region is written here – as Batumi No. 21 Public School. 21st-century appropriate, modern, beautiful, and functional infrastructure for 1,400 students, fully adapted and providing a safe, comfortable educational environment for children. One of the top priorities of our government is the construction, rehabilitation, and development of education infrastructure. Long-term investment in the next generation is the basis for the success of our region and country. We opened four new schools in Adjara in the new academic year. Recently, we visited the fully rehabilitated buildings of Batumi’s No. 4 and No. 5 public schools. Seven new schools will be added to the region next year, and ten more schools are planned to be built in the coming years. This is the dynamic that serves to improve the quality of education and take care of our children. This year we have much important news in the framework of education reform. Today we are especially happy to see our first graders in new, beautiful uniforms. This reaffirms our goal to ensure all children have equal opportunities and decent conditions. I want to give a special thank you to our teachers, professors, principals, and all the people who take care of our little ones every day. The Georgian government is doing everything to ensure that they have decent working conditions, and our children have a bright, safe, and development-oriented environment,” said Zurab Pataradze.
Government representatives inspected the newly built school, which is designed for 1400 students. The school has sports and activity halls, a library, various purpose spaces, as well as an open field. The cost of construction and equipment of the 21st Public School of Batumi is 8 500 000 GEL.
Georgian Infrastructure Minister Revaz Sokhadze, Head of Administration of the Government of Georgia Levan Zhorzholiani, Member of Parliament of Georgia Archil Beridze, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Tsotne Ananidze, the Government of Adjara, and members of the Supreme Council were present.
