The Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, hosted Zhanna Andreasyan, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia shared glimpses of the gathering on its official Facebook Page on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. The Georgian Ministry also shared a brief note about the meeting held, along with the highlights.
During the meeting, the parties discussed existing cooperation between Georgia and Armenia in the fields of education, science, and youth, as well as joint initiatives and opportunities to deepen future partnerships.
The ministers discussed:
- ongoing educational reforms in both countries,
- the deepening of cooperation in higher education and research,
- the strengthening of ties between universities and scientific institutions.
Special focus was placed on the importance of sharing experience and best practices amidst the expansion of partnerships between the two countries, the implementation of new joint projects, and ongoing education reforms.
The parties spoke positively about the existing cooperation in the youth sector. Both sides also expressed their readiness to continue youth camps, exchange programs, forums, and other youth-oriented initiatives.
Meeting Participants included:
- Alfred Kocharyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia;
- Ashot Smbatyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia;
- Giorgi Sharvashidze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia.
