A fully renovated Marani cultural house opened in Abasha Municipality of Georgia. The house was rehabilitated with the active support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
The cultural house has been opened for the general public after an official ceremony. The Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia, with the cooperation of the National Agency for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Georgia  is carrying out many projects to protect Georgia’s rich heritage.
The official opening ceremony of this cultural house was attended by the Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia, Maka Gurgenidze. He was accompanied by many other higher ministry’s and local government officials.
The chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Levan Mgaloblishvili Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia, Mikheil Dundua Member of the Parliament of Georgia, Bezhan Tsakadze, Acting State Trustee in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region, Nino Vibliani  and Mayor of Abashi Municipality Giga Gabelaia also attended the event.
Similarly the general secretary of the National Agency for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Georgia Deputy director and officials such as  Nino Guloshvili, Lado Gabodze, Paata Gafrindashvili, as well as architects of the Cultural Heritage Protection Agency and other guests were present.
The electrifying performance of the ensemble “Harira” at the Abasha Culture and Art Development Centre made the event a lifelong experience for the attendees. The Anzor Erkomaishvili State Folklore Center of Abashi students also participated in the House of Culture opening ceremony.
It is worth noting that the rehabilitation works of the House of Culture were carried out in three stages and the complete rehabilitation of both the interior and exterior of the building was carried out taking into account all modern standards.
The work includes renovating the lighting and sound systems restoring the building’s historical appearance and preserving every architectural and artistic element in its exterior and interior with renovation work as well.
The total cost of the rehabilitation project was an amount of  4,466,815 GEL. The newly rehabilitated House of Culture will host important and exciting cultural projects of the region. This outstanding building was awarded the status of a cultural heritage monument in 2016.
