Adjara, Georgia: Under the leadership of the Chairman of the Adjara Government, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, a government session was held on May 30, 2025, Friday.

According to the small note shared by the Government of Ajara, it was noted that the chairman once congratulated the population on an important national holiday, Georgia’s Independence Day. He also wished good luck to Giorgi Murvanidze, acting mayor of Batumi, and Irakli Tsetskhladze, acting Mayor of Kobuleti, who attended the government meeting for the first time.
During the meeting, the issues of preparation for the summer tourist season were discussed. According to Sulkhan Tamazashvili’s statement, all relevant authorities were instructed that the region should meet the guests who arrived in full readiness.
It was noted that the rehabilitation of an important section of Rustaveli Street was completed in Batumi. The remaining works continue in active mode, which ensures the city is ready for the start of the season.
Positive trends of tourism growth in Adjara were discussed at the meeting. Sulkhan Tamazashvili noted that the long-term strategy of the government is to make the region a center of tourist attraction and economic activity in all four seasons. According to him, it is important to fully embrace the potential of highland Adjara, ensuring equal distribution of welfare and opportunities in all municipalities.
It was noted at the government meeting that there are positive expectations in the region in terms of economic growth. According to the current forecast, in 2025 Adjara will have double-digit economic growth.
Also, the investment implemented within the framework of the agreement signed between the Government of Georgia and the “Emaar Group” will bring a new dynamic to the development sector of the region and strengthen economic growth in Gonio.
