Adjara, Georgia: The Chairman of the Adjara Government, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, was in citrus processing plants in the Kobuleti municipality, where they got acquainted with the citrus manufacturing process.
It is worth noting that, along with the chairman of Adjara Government, the Minister of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia, David Songulashvili, and the Minister of Agriculture of Adjara, Denis Salukvadze, were also present.

The chairman of the Adjara government assessed the progress of the citrus harvest in the region. According to his statement, the government is working as much as possible to create conditions for the smooth realization of farmers ‘ needs.
In his address, Sulkhan Tamazashvili noted, “As of today, up to 20,000 tons of mandarines have been exported, with a total value of 12 million dollars.”
According to him, this result shows that the citrus season is running smoothly and Georgian tangerines are successfully realized, both in international and local markets.
“We are actively involved in the process to create smooth realization conditions for farmers. We have positive expectations that in the coming days the export of tangerines will increase significantly, ” the chairman mentioned.
“Also, I would like to note that as of today, up to 12 thousand tons of non-standard tangerines have been processed, for which up to 4 million GEL was subsidized. All of the above will directly affect both the development of agriculture, as well as the social and economic condition of the population,” said Sulkhan Tamazashvili.
Authorities inspected the company “Iberia Orbi Citrus”, which is receiving standard tangerines, and “Georgian Industrial Asset Management Group”, which is receiving non-standard tangerines.
The representatives of the Georgian Parliament and Adjara Government got acquainted with the activities of Citrus industries.
