Adjara Government Reviews Key Development Projects

Under the leadership of the Chairman of the Adjara Government, Zurab Pataradze, a government session was held. In addition to discussing the agenda, the Prime Minister focused on several important issues.

He also noted that Adjara, with all its resources and diverse tourist potential, is one of the most important circles in the country’s continuous development chain.

The Prime Minister discussed infrastructural projects in the direction of Daniparauli, Black Lake, Green Lake, Ghorjomi and Resort Goderdze. It was noted that the creation of new tourist routes, the construction of roads, the improvement of the entrance road to the Goderdze resort, and other necessary infrastructure will greatly boost the resort’s tourist potential.

The chairman of the government introduced several new initiatives to the society. Among them are the construction of new cycling roads in the direction of Goderdze resort and Khulo-Tago, the study of the possibilities of developing public air transport in Batumi, and the research of transport flows according to international standards. The head of the government focused attention on the plans for the development of Khulo Alpine Botanical Garden. The project envisages the creation of new tourist attractions, parking spaces, lake facilities, infrastructure upgrades, and the possibility of international scientific conferences.

“The success of the mountain is the strength of all Adjara’s municipalities, and the public holiday “Shuamtoba” also represents the unique character of our region – a symbol of labor, unity, generosity and development” – said Zurab Pataradze.

Educational infrastructure development is still a constant priority. Construction of new schools and preschools is actively underway in this direction. Specifically, the works of kindergartens N3, N12 and N26 will be completed in Batumi this year, and Gonio will soon have a brand new kindergarten, where at the same time the reconstruction of the local stadium is planned. Zurab Pataradze also focused on the celebration of the International Youth Day and the promotion of informal education.

The discussion on health care is about the Adjara Highland Village and Herding Disease Research Program, which includes 7 mountains and 11 villages in the Adjara Highlands, and within which medical services are provided to the people of the Highlands. At the meeting, the construction of social houses in the municipalities of Kobuleti and Khelvachuri, the program “Batumi without accident houses”, and the progress of the construction of the “City of Dreams”, where at the same time a kindergarten is planned to be built.

The Prime Minister spoke about the scale of the new international festival “Sounds of Wisdom” and noted that such cultural events contribute to the development of cultural tourism and promotion of the region.
The meeting also touched on the measures taken for the development of agriculture. The focus will be on supporting farmers and strengthening the forest agency’s technical capabilities.
