Adjara: The government of Adjara has announced a special relief package for the families affected by various natural disasters, including fire. As a measure of social welfare, the Adjara government will allocate 785,308 GEL to 69 families affected by the disaster and fire.
The municipality meeting was held recently and presented the five critical issues. Similarly, at the regular meeting of the mixed governmental commission on the elimination of natural damage from Kedi municipality, the five crucial issues were discussed and positively resolved.
It is to be mentioned that in the administrative building of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, a regular meeting of the United Governmental Commission on the Elimination of Natural Damage was held. On this occasion, the members of the commission discussed sixty-nine issues presented by Adjara’s municipalities. The commission also made a positive recommendation on allocating money from the Reserve Fund of the Adjara Government to all families, totaling 785 308 Gel.
As per the announcement of the municipality representative, the families affected by fire and natural disasters will receive financial assistance for the reconstruction and replacement of their living spaces. The natural disaster caused by heavy rain and hailstorms in many parts of the country has caused huge damage to many areas. Many areas were also left isolated due to the heavy flooding. Since the damage occurred, many people have become homeless, and their houses were damaged badly as well.
The municipality carried out the assessment to calculate the damage. The calculation aimed to create specific plans for the reconstruction and development work. It is also to be noted that in the last year, 4676395 GEL was allocated to help families affected by the disaster and fire. Moreover, financial assistance was provided to 520 families last year.
Climate change has hugely affected the country’s climate. Consequently, many people are forced to move to safer places to survive natural disasters.
