The Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Zurab Pataradze, together with the Chairman of the Supreme Council, Kotne Ananidze, and the Minister of Education and Sport of Adjara, Maia Khadjishvili, met with teachers who had won various projects and competitions.
Zurab Pataradze congratulated the teachers on their achievements and noted that organising such an event before the start of the new academic year is a clear message of appreciation for the teachers’ contribution and an increase in their motivation. This is because the role of teachers is paramount in improving the quality of education and creating better opportunities for pupils.
It is symbolic that we have met with teachers before the start of the new academic year. Their involvement and role are crucial for improving the quality of education and for the country’s development. The strength of our country lies in its educated and successful young people, and the daily work of our teachers is of the utmost importance in their upbringing. For our part, we are doing everything to ensure the educational infrastructure is in good order and to create decent conditions for both children and teachers,” said Zurab Pataradze.
The ‘Project in My Classroom’ programme: As part of the programme, 50 winning teachers will receive a monthly salary supplement of 500 lari, as well as financial support of 1,000 lari to purchase educational resources.
As part of another Ministry of Education project, 100 winning teachers have been selected, who will receive a monthly salary supplement of 250 lari during the 2026–2027 academic year. Meanwhile, 10 winning teachers from the foreign internship competition will take part in a professional development programme in Poland.
Members of the Supreme Council of Adjara, heads of municipalities, representatives of the Batumi City Hall and City Assembly, and heads of resource centres attended the event.
