The Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Zurab Pataradze visited the Shuakhevi Municipality and got acquainted with the ongoing infrastructure projects. He also inspected the works in the villages of Khichauri and Gomarduli.
According to the Chairman of the Government, the projects implemented in the mountainous Adjara will significantly improve both the living conditions of the population and the tourist attractiveness of the region.
“Today we inspected important infrastructure projects in mountainous Adjara. The administrative center in Khichauri is being improved, which includes the improvement of road and municipal infrastructure. We were also in Gomarduli, which has great tourist and mountain-skiing potential. New cottages are being built here, tourist infrastructure is being developed, and private sector interest is growing. New projects are also underway in the Khichauri, Chvani and Gomi directions, including the construction of a 6.5-kilometer road,” said Zurab Pataradze.
In the village Khichauri the administrative center is actively being facilitated. The project includes rehabilitation of yards and squares of multi-storey residential buildings, installation of asphalt concrete paving, sloping walls, decorative lighting and underground communications.
The construction of an administrative building of modern standards has been completed in Gomarduli. The building will house the governor’s office, a medical center and a multifunctional hall. The project envisages an environment adapted for people with disabilities, as well as the improvement of the surrounding area – recreation and children’s areas, window sills, walking paths, a bonfire area, outdoor lighting and greenery will be arranged.
Minister of Finance and Economy of Adjara Ednar Nataridze, Member of Parliament of Georgia Anzor Bolkvadze, Member of the Supreme Council of Adjara Fridon Putkaradze, Mayor of Shuakhevi Omar Takidze, Head of Adjara Roads Department Zaza Shavadze and representatives of local self-governing projects were introduced together with the Chairman of the Government.
