A working meeting was held under the leadership of the Adjara Government Chairman, Zurab Pataradze. During the meeting, the elimination measures for the damage caused by heavy rainfall and natural disasters were discussed.
The Chairman of the Government heard from the municipalities and representatives of relevant services detailed information about the current situation, the work carried out, and the measures required for further response.
Special attention was given to the needs of families affected by heavy rainfall and flash flooding, damage calculation and geological survey of affected areas; infrastructural measures based on relevant findings were also discussed. It was noted that coordinated work, constant communication with the population, and timely response are necessary in order to eliminate injuries.
According to Zurab Pataradze, taking into account the climate conditions and current experiences in the region, it is necessary not only to calculate the damage identified and carry out measures to eliminate the consequences, but also to develop preventive approaches and effective mechanisms to meet similar challenges by municipal services and profiling authorities with appropriate readiness.
“Securing the safety of the public and comfortable conditions for citizens is the top priority of our government and, in any and especially in force majeure situations, it is the duty of all government agencies and public officials to do their utmost within their power and competence to provide timely response assistance to affected citizens and to them.” Provision of services tailored to the needs” – Government noted by the chairman.
