The application could be submitted from May 14 onwards. The agency has provided this information on its official Facebook page.  The Facebook post stated “Accepting applications for the Co-financing Program of Agricultural Techniques in Highlands” will start on May 14, 2024, at noon! The program considers co-financing of small agricultural machinery in highland areas.”

The volume of co-financing for one beneficiary is more than 70% of the cost of agricultural machinery, added the agency in a Facebook postThe program was started with the sole objective of increasing the access of farmers to agricultural machinery in the mountainous region of Georgia.

This also helps marginalized farmers to get agriculture machinery at discounted rates. The main implementor of the program is the rural development agency itself. However the rural development agency will implement this project with the coordination of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture.

As mentioned above the program will be implemented in the mountainous areas of Georgia. The mountainous settlements are determined by the Resolution N 671 of the Government of Georgia. These resolutions were passed on December 30, 2015 for “Approval of the list of mountainous settlements.”

The above-passed resolution could be amended and such amendments can be verified on the official website of the Legislative Herald of Georgia, said an official of the rural development agency. On the other hand, the social media user appreciated this decision of the Government whereas some also asked their queries regarding the implementation of the program.

One user David Akhvlediani while commenting suggested, “What a kind of segregation, Pea can no longer plow with a tractor in highlands or bars, physically not there.
