Georgia: In the Akhaltsikhe municipality, general meetings with the population have begun recently. The meetings are being conducted within the framework of the village support program to discuss future development plans.
In a recently concluded meeting, the Deputy Mayor of Akhaltsikhe Municipality, Vazha Gachechiladze, Chairman of the City Council, David Lomidze, Deputy Saba Kbilashvili, members of the City Council, representatives of the City Hall services and administrative representatives met with the village population.
It is worth noting that the residents of Atskuri, Tiseli and Temlan together with local government representatives discussed the needs of the settlements and decided with a majority of votes on how the funds allocated for the villages will be used.
The citizens and the municipality’s leaders also discussed priority problems and identified ways to solve them. They have also discussed many other issues that need to be solved on a priority.
It is worth mentioning that, for the successful execution of development projects in 2025, an amount of  612,000 GEL was allocated for the implementation of different improvement programs in Akhaltsikhe Municipality.
Large number of people gathered on this occasion to shared their views with office bearers of the municipality. They expressed their gratitude towards representatives of the municipality for this wonderful opportunity as well.Â
Notably, meetings with the residents of Gurkeli, Zhenubani, Agara, Sakuneti, and Zikilia under the framework of the “Village Support Program” were held, and similar gatherings will soon take place in other villages within the municipality.
It should also be noted that consultative meetings will be held in all villages of the municipality until February 24. The selected projects will be presented to the Akhaltsikhe Municipality Council for approval, and the preparation of the project documentation will begin.

In addition, it should be noted that, within the framework of the Village support program, general consultation meetings are being held in all the municipalities of Georgia to improve the conditions of villages in Georgia. It is to be mentioned that the village support program aims to finance small infrastructure projects named as a priority by the locals.
