Georgia: The International Day of Protection of Children, a significant global event, was celebrated in Akhaltsikhe with a range of diverse and engaging activities.
Akhaltsikhe Central Park is a place of extraordinary joy. On the initiative of Akhaltsighe Municipality Hall, various exciting events were held for children.
The event, dedicated to Children’s Protection Day, was inaugurated by Manana Beridze, a renowned actress from the Meskheti State Dramatic Theater. Ketevan Mishvelidze, the head of the cultural service of Akhaltsikhe Municipality Hall, and Liza Arbolishvili, the manager of Kindergarten No3 in Akhalsikhe, along with their parents, extended their warm wishes to the children and their families.
The event was a true spectacle, filled with joy and laughter, as the children from the kindergarten groups of Akhaltsikhe City performed their musical and imitation numbers.
In the park, the Akhaltsikhe Municipality Hall and the Youth Council showed their unwavering support by organizing a range of entertaining and educational activities, including board games, fun starts, quizzes, and competitions.
Contest and game winners were traditionally rewarded with gifts, and the gathered little ones were given helium balloons from the City Hall.
The animated characters of the entertainment center Happy Kids particularly entertained the little guests of the event.
An exhibition of the art school pupils’ works was held, and the pupils painted their faces.
International Day for Protection of Children
International Day for the Protection of Children is celebrated on 1 June every year. The day is marked to honor children globally for their right to survival, development, protection from harmful influences, and participation in family, cultural, and social life.
A large number of children are engaged in paid or unpaid domestic work, often in dire conditions. Many of them are vulnerable to exploitation as they work far away from their homes. This highlights the need to dedicate a day to raise awareness about their protection.
