An open day for students of Caucasus University was held in Vaziani, 4th Infantry Brigade. Students were hosted by Deputy Minister of Defense Grigol Giorgadze and Commander of the 4th Infantry Brigade, Colonel Giorgi Jincharadze.
Deputy Minister and President of the Caucasus University Kakha Shengelia addressed students, wished them success in the future and made joint future plans.
Students were introduced to the history and tasks of the unit at the memorial to the soldiers who died for the territorial integrity of Georgia.
The students inspected the infrastructure of the base and got acquainted with the living conditions of the soldiers. They visited the medical point and the gyms and inspected the equipment and weapons exhibited in the base area.
Demonstration exercises were later held, which included evacuating the wounded and overcoming the obstacle course. The visitors also tasted the “soldier’s treat” in the brigade canteen. The open day ended with a shootout at the simulation centre.
Open Days in the Defense Forces are held regularly for various groups of the community, including schoolchildren and students. The aim of the event is to increase the awareness of the young generation about the Defense Forces and to popularize the Georgian army.
