Bangkok, Thailand: The Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth, Ana Mghebrishvili participated in the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME) International Conference entitled: “Health for All, through quality medical education”. Notably, the conference was held in Bangkok, Thailand from May 25-28, 2025.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia shared glimpses of the event on its Official Facebook page on June 7, 2025. The Ministry also shared a small note along with the photographs.
According to the details shared by the ministry, it should be noted that at the event, the representatives of education spheres from different countries introduced the projects implemented for the development of medical education to the public and shared information about best practices in their countries.
The international conference was attended by 970 representatives from 92 countries, including 25 delegates from different higher education institutions authorized in Georgia.
During the conference, Ana Mghebrishvili, acting director of the National Center for the Development of Quality Education Lasha Margishvili, and head of the Higher Education Quality Assurance Service of the Center David Kukhalashvili, held a working meeting with WFME President Ricardo Leon Borges and Vice President Genevieve Moineu.
However, the working meeting mainly focused on important issues of improving the quality of education in the educational programs of the doctor in Georgia. At the meeting, the parties also discussed in general the links between university and postgraduate education.
WFME leadership reaffirmed its readiness for close coordination and cooperation with the Georgian Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, and the National Center for Education Quality Development.
During the visit, working meetings were also held with Harm Peters, President of the Association of European Medical Schools (AMSE), representatives of European agencies for higher education, and representatives of various international medical organizations, associations, and institutions.
