The annual two-day festival “Tbilisioba” ended successfully with huge celebrations in Georgia’s capital city, Tbilisi.
Several events were held in Rike Park and Orbelinai Square on October 5 and 6, 2024.On the second day of the festival, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze joined the citizens.
They both extended their best wishes to the people for this annual event graced by the esteemed presence of many dignitaries from city and country.
In his congratulatory message, the Prime Minister said, “This annual festival comes with the opportunity to gather together and share happy moments. The festival also provides citizens, especially young boys and girls an opportunity to learn about the rich history, culture and music of Georgia which is necessary to preserve the Georgian culture for the future.”
On the other hand, Mayor Kakha Kaladze congratulated the people and honoured selected citizens with the status of Honorary Citizens of Tbilisi. In his address, the Mayor said,I would like to congratulate the capital’s residents on this day.
He further stated “It’s nice to see so many people out on the streets. The tradition continues and the days of our beautiful city are filled with great enthusiasm. Everything is organized at the highest level both on Orbeliani Square as well as on Banotubani and the stream. There are various spaces where theatrical performances are held with accommodating spaces for the little ones.”
“In fact, there is a different kind of events for people of all generations. Yesterday, we had an impressive award ceremony for honourable Tbilisi residents. I would like to thank these people for what they have done for our city and our country. We will continue this tradition and appreciate the work of all respected people. Congratulations once again. It’s nice to have such a festive mood in the capital,” said the mayor of Tbilisi.
The Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi, Andria Basilia and members of the Georgian Parliament were also present on this occasion as well. Many people along with their families joined the two-day celebrations.
