As snowfall caused people to suffer in many areas authorities are making efforts to provide necessary assistance to needy people. Now once again authorities have sent another supply of food stuff and other essential to location facing emergency.
While taking to social media handles the ministry of environment protection and agriculture shares the glimpses of assistance being dispatched to these areas.
As per authorities the primary consumption products and firewood were sent to the population affected by heavy snowfall in the Guria and Imereti regions. The official confirmed if need arises more such help material will be sent to people in need in emergency.
It is worth to mention that, in accordance with the decision made by the Coordination Headquarters under the leadership of the Prime Minister, 140 tons of the sent products were distributed to three municipalities of the Guria region.
Similarly about 40 tons help assistance aid is sent to six municipalities of the Imereti region and handed over to the population under the organization of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
In the Guria region, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture provided the population affected by the disaster with firewood. The National Forestry Agency sent a total of 1,200 cubic meters of firewood to the region.
On the other hand the firewood and other material was distributed to the “business yards” of the Guria region, from which the population of all three municipalities of the region was supplied with these energy sources as well.
It is also to be noted that about 30 rangers from the Agency of Protected Areas (Georgia) with appropriate off-road vehicles and snowmobiles are involved in the process of assisting the population affected by the disaster. The rangers, as needed, transport the population and are also involved in the process of monitoring the disaster zone with drones.
Crews of the Environmental Supervision Department are involved in providing transportation for citizens, as well as supplying medicines and food so that all people get timely assistance as well.
